A picture book of IB Chemistry. Simple on purpose.
Not to Scale is a picture book that explains IB Chemistry topics: simple, friendly illustrations that move gently, short captions, and things you can tap to see what's really going on underneath.
It simplifies on purpose. Real atoms aren't red, electrons don't really orbit like little planets, and almost nothing here is drawn to scale — every page that simplifies says so, in its own small, slightly cheeky footnote. That honesty about models being models is itself an IB idea.
It's mainly for understanding, not for drilling. Still, each page ends with one optional Check yourself question in the style of IB paper 1, there is a glossary and a data booklet panel (both from the Contents page, and the Data booklet notes under captions open the booklet section), and the Contents page marks the pages you've visited. That progress stays in your browser only.
Where a page quotes a real value, a small Data booklet note says which section of the IB Chemistry data booklet (first assessment 2025) it comes from, so you can find it there too. The contents page follows the syllabus, with each topic's code.
